The company started out with just one tractor and two trailers, and in its first year of operation, it generated $12,000 in revenue.

With lone drivers and two-person driver teams, CFI provides point-to-point, full truckload dry van service on long-distance routes, with the majority of the time each trailer containing just one customer’s goods.

Who Owns CFI Trucking?

Con-way, Inc. owned CFI from 2007 to 2015 under the name Con-way Truckload. XPO Logistics briefly owned it between 2015 and 2016, during which time it was known as XPO Logistics Truckload. After being acquired by TFI, then known as TransForce, the company resumed its pre-2007 operations as a stand-alone truckload business operating under its original name, CFI.

TFI is a publicly traded company that conducts business in both the US and Canada through a number of independent subsidiaries. Truckload, one of TFI’s four business divisions, which also includes CFI, is the biggest in the US.
