It all began with our classic “black stick.” In the early 1880s, ChapStick invented the lip care category with the launch of a now-iconic lip balm that made ChapStick a household name. And over the years, as consumer needs have changed, ChapStick has, too.

We continue to anticipate our consumers’ lip needs and add products to our portfolio with innovative new ingredients, skincare benefits, flavors, and forms. As the leading authority on lips, we’re devoted to perfecting the science of skincare for lips, so no matter who you are or where you are, ChapStick is there for you.

ChapStick was a Wyeth product until 2009 when Wyeth was acquired by Pfizer. Pfizer sold the manufacturing facility in Richmond, Virginia, on October 3, 2011, to Fareva Richmond, who now manufactures and packages ChapStick for Pfizer.
