It was written and directed by Kay Cannon and starred Idina Menzel, Minnie Driver, Nicholas Galitzine, Billy Porter, Pierce Brosnan, and singer Camila Cabello in the titular role in her acting debut.

It is a jukebox musical including pop and rock classics as well as some original songs.

Production on the film began when Sony Pictures said in April 2019 that Cannon would write and direct a Cinderella movie in the vein of a musical.

Through Fulwell 73, James Corden, Leo Pearlman, Jonathan Kadin, and Shannon McIntosh produced the film.

Principal photography began at Pinewood Studios in February 2020 and was suspended in March 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Production began in August 2020 and ended in September.

Cinderella was made accessible online on Amazon Prime Video and in a select number of theatres on September 3, 2021

Who plays the prince in Cinderella with Camila Cabello?

An updated version of Prince Charming, Prince Robert is played by Londoner Nicholas Galitzine and is Cinderella’s love interest.
