Ariel, a young mermaid princess who yearns to be human, falls in love with Eric, a human prince, and makes a magical pact with Ursula, a sea witch, in order to turn human and be with him.

The evil sea witch Ursula, voiced by American actress Pat Carroll, gives the mermaid princess Ariel the chance to temporarily transform into a human in order to win Prince Eric’s affection within three days.
