He has steered a positive change for the Far North’s residents as the head of the He Korowai Trust in Kaitaia since its founding in the early 2000s.
In the past ten years, Ricky has prevented the sale of more than 550 homes in the Far North by Mortgagees, keeping 6400 vulnerable Kiwis housed.
Houghton put in a lot of effort to help those who were less fortunate.
Houghton oversaw the He Korowai Trust, which helped millions of people locate secure, affordable housing and employment.
