Ingmar Bergman was married to five women and had three children including Linn Ullmann, Eva Bergman, Mats Bergman, and Anna Bergman.

Jean-Luc Godard, on the other hand, was also a filmmaker who worked as a director, screenwriter, and film critic. Godard became well notable for being one of the pioneers of the 1960s French New Wave film movement. Godard is also well known for works which include Contempt, A Woman is a Woman, Breathless and other works. Godard died On 13 September 2022.

Why did Bergman not like Jean-Luc Godard?

The two influential filmmakers, Ingmar Bergman and Jean-Luc Godard were not in good relations. Bergman was a critic of Godard’s works even though others praised the latter’s works.

According to Ingmar Bergman, Jean-Luc Godard’s works “felt constructed, faux intellectual and completely dead. Cinematography ally uninteresting and infinitely boring.”
