Many tennis players have made it part of their routine to eat bananas at the courtside during matches.

Why Do Tennis Players Eat Bananas?

Bananas continue to be the snack of choice for the majority of Wimbledon tennis players. Tennis champions still like bananas as a snack because they know the fruit will provide them more energy when they are playing.

This is because bananas are a quick source of energy, and tennis players need the energy to be awake and energized during a match.

The nutrients potassium, vitamin C, vitamin B6, and magnesium are all abundant in bananas, which are also a great source of dietary fibre.

The athletes are kept active and protected from muscular weariness by the high potassium levels.

All tennis players consume around five bananas every day, according to 23-year-old Canadian Eugenie Bouchard. Every year at Wimbledon, 5,000 kilos of bananas are devoured.
