Since its delivery on September 11, 2022, the melody by Japhet Attah Egwumah a.k.a Japhman named “Chokum” has been getting a charge out of rave surveys from various quarters. While some have adulated the artist and lyricist for the work, others seem to feel he has maligned ladies in the tune by carrying their ‘privates’ to people in general.

In any case, the vocalist in a talk with Blend scattered such a thought, expressing vehemently that he cherishes ladies a lot to criticize them while certifying that the melody was intended to see the value in them and their excellence.

“Chokum was composed with the principal goal of respecting ladies and their excellence. The melody is for the most part about valuing the bends and engaging quality of a lady’s body. Each lady is constructed in an unexpected way, some are unimposing and thin, while some are tall and thick.

“A few ladies have little boobs and butts, while others are more blessed – the tune ‘Chokum’ is tied in with valuing the excellence that accompanies each particularly fabricated shape. Each lady on the planet is delightful and provocative in their manner and I simply needed to communicate that through my melody. So the word – CHOKUM is a shoptalk meaning self-appreciation ( I got everything in me ),’ he makes sense of.
