Many fans were confused when it was revealed that Albert Wesker would feature in the Resident Evil series on Netflix. Wesker dies in 2009, even though the game series is set in the years 2022 and 2036.
Wesker’s continued inclusion in the Netflix adaptation of Resident Evil is easily explained by the fact that, despite the showrunner referring to the program as “canon,” it has little to do with the video games.
In that variation, Raccoon City was obliterated in 1998 as a result of a virus outbreak. Wesker works for Umbrella, a pharmaceutical company that developed the virus that turns living things into the undead.
Other than that, there aren’t many similarities between Resident Evil on Netflix and the rest of the series. There is essentially little likelihood that the franchise will be taken into account in upcoming games because Capcom has paid the series extremely little attention.

Nobody is aware of Wesker’s racial origin. However, some claim that this was done to encourage the illegal market to see the movie.
