Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis suffered a foot injury in a recent game against the Houston Texans. The injury occurred early in the second quarter when defensive end Jerry Hughes of the Texans sacked Levis, leading to a fumble that resulted in a touchdown for Houston, who eventually won the game 26-3.
Following the hit, Levis limped off the field, visibly frustrated, and was eventually taken off on a cart after a medical evaluation. Initially, the Titans listed him as questionable to return, but later declared him out for the remainder of the game.
Levis, a rookie, had taken over as the Titans’ starting quarterback in Week 8 and had started nine games since. Prior to the game against the Texans, he had completed 59% of his passes for an average of 224 yards per game, achieving eight touchdowns and four interceptions.
His performance was a significant factor for the Titans, who, after the loss to the Texans, had a record of 5-11 and were already out of the playoff hunt.
Despite the concerning nature of the injury, Levis managed to get up and exit the field under his own power. He was even seen jogging on the sidelines later, indicating the injury might not be as severe as first thought. Titans coach Mike Vrabel didn’t provide a definitive update on Levis’ condition but confirmed that he would undergo further medical tests.
Levis himself seemed optimistic, downplaying the severity of the injury and stating that it could have been worse. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Levis had suffered an ankle sprain, which could potentially allow him to play in one of Tennessee’s final three games, depending on the severity of the injury.
