Winston Stona, a businessman and actor from Jamaica, has passed away. The University Hospital of the West Indies was the scene of the sad passing of Stona on August 23, 2022.
Along with his work in acting and business, Stona frequently served as co-chair of the Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards and was honored with the event’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
Stona was eulogized and lauded as a national treasure, a guy who gave his entire support to every effort, whether it was related to food or fashion, by the chair of the Food Awards, Novia McDonald-Whyte, who disclosed that she spoke with Stona a week ago. The Busha Browne Company was co-founded by Stona.
Stona was a pioneer in the condiment business; in fact, Busha Browne, his award-winning company, is credited with bringing Jamaican jerk seasoning to the US market. Jerk sauces, marinades, jellies, preserves, and chutneys were all part of the line.
Stona was jokingly referred to as the “King of Condiments” because he was a co-founder of the Busha Browne Company.

According to a report from radiojamaicanewsonline, Stona supposedly obtained a non-lymphoma Hodgkin’s diagnosis a few months ago, and he passed away at the University Hospital of the West Indies.
