Yassine Bounou, also known as Bono, is a Moroccan professional goalkeeper for La Liga club Sevilla and the Moroccan national team. Yassine Bounou was also a member of Morocco’s 18-man under-23 Olympic team for the 2012 Summer Games; however, he acted as Mohamed Amsif’s backup during the group stage elimination.

It is known that he began his football career with the Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca School, where he advanced through all age categories before joining the main squad. During the 2009/2010 season, he won the local league championship and reached the final of the African Champions League in 2011.

In May of 2018, Yassine Bounou was chosen to Morocco’s 23-man World Cup team. At the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, he was HervĂ© Renard’s first-choice goalkeeper, posting shutouts in 1-0 victories over Namibia and Ivory Coast to advance to the round of 16.
