Young M.A uses rap to address many of the same issues that male rappers do, such as violence, sexuality, materialism, and material possessions. “We can’t pretend that men don’t control this field,” young M.A said. Because the boys have so much power, it’s more satisfying to succeed as a woman.” M.A. had a passion for music since she was a child. When young M.A started focusing on music seriously as an adult, she self-funded a recording studio with local record producers while working at Shake Shack and T.J. Maxx.
In 2018, M.A. was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, the same year she and her mother founded the KWEENZ Foundation. Young M.A rose to fame in 2014 after a Facebook post blasted her freestyle to Nicki Minaj and G Herbo’s “ChiRaq,” and “Brooklyn Chiraq,” which then went viral.
