A former manager of Hiplife group 5Five has stated on 3FM’s Showbiz 927 that the group set the pace for Afrobeats in Ghana.
Afrobeats, a musical genre with a fusion of West African musical styles, influences hiplife, hip-hop, dancehall, and highlife. It has gradually gained ground in Ghana and Africa as a whole.
According to Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bulldog, the amount of work 5Five did will not be erased or forgotten and that even the trend that brought the whole Azonto thing, they set the trend as well.
He made this assertion while reacting to a question from host MzGee, who quizzed him on what happened to the group 5Five.
The controversial artiste manager further added that the system is now competitive and they [5Five] need to double up to be able to catch on.
“I don’t think I still have that energy, I would contribute but I won’t be a pillar-like I was before. I would love to form a team and advice, and because I know the path, I will show,” he said.
