Amy Finley, born December 9, 1973, in San Diego, California, is an American chef and writer who won the third season of The Next Food Network Star and was awarded a Food Network culinary show.
She studied traditional French cooking techniques at Paris’ La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine. After college, Finley worked in a number of restaurants in Paris before returning to the United States to pursue a career in food writing.
Finley rose to notoriety after winning Food Network Star’s third season. She then became the host of The Gourmet Next Door and the author of several cookbooks. Finley has also worked as a culinary editor and judge on other cooking shows on the Food Network. Aarti Sequeira, Melissa d’Arabian, and Jeff Mauro, who had previously won Food Network Star, competed on Chopped with Finley in 2012. She was defeated in the second round.
