André René Roussimoff, who is known by his ring name André the Giant, was born on 19 May 1946 in Coulommiers, Seine-et-Marne in France. André the Giant stood at a height of about 7 feet 4 inches or 224 centimeters tall. André the Giant also weighed about 520 lbs or 236 kilograms. Roussimoff also had the nicknames Géant Ferré, Giant Machine, and Jean Ferré.
André Roussimoff was a professional wrestler and actor who was notable for great size which as a result of an excess growth hormone. André the Giant’s size also made him known as “The Eighth Wonder of the World. André the Giant was named the paid wrestler in the Guinness Book of Records in the year 1974.
André the Giant passed away on 23 January 1993 at the age of 46 years old in Paris, France due to a heart attack in his sleep. André’s body was cremated in the United States of America. André was survived by his daughter Robin.
