Bill Turnbull was a British journalist and presenter who spent many years working as a presenter for the BBC before moving on to present for Classic FM later in life. Turnbull was born in Guildford, Surrey, on January 25, 1956, to an English mother and a Scottish-born father.

Bill completed his education at the University of Edinburgh and Eton College, where he served as editor of the student newspaper. In 1978, he received his degree from Cardiff University.

Turnbull’s career began in 1978 at the small-town Scottish station Radio Clyde, and he later worked as a freelancer in the USA for a while.

Before becoming a correspondent for BBC News in 1990, Turnbull worked for the BBC as a reporter for the Today program in 1986 and for Breakfast Time in 1988.

Bill reported on a variety of domestic and international stories from more than 30 different countries, including a four-year stint as a Washington Correspondent based in the United States. For a while, Sian Williams served as his producer.

Bill Turnbull, a well-known English journalist and BBC television presenter, is married to Sarah McCombie.
In the London Borough of Hackney in March 1988, Turnbull wed Sarah McCombie.
Henry, born in October 1988, Will, born in October 1989, and Flora, born in August 1991 were the couple’s three children.

Turnbull and his wife had previously resided in Buckinghamshire; however, they moved to Rainow, Cheshire, in 2012 as a result of BBC Breakfast’s relocation to Salford. He then relocated to Suffolk (better source required).
