Bob Gansler (born July 1, 1941) is a German-descent American soccer player and coach of Hungarian origin. He led the United States National Team to its first World Cup appearance since 1950 in 1990.
Gansler earned 25 appearances for the United States as a player between 1963 and 1969, captaining the 1964 and 1968 Olympic qualifying teams as well as the 1967 Pan American team. Only five of his 25 appearances, all in 1968, were in games regarded full internationals.
In 1967, Gansler was a member of the National Professional Soccer League’s Chicago Mustangs. When the NPSL and the United Soccer Association united to establish the North American Soccer League, the Spurs amalgamated with the Chicago Mustangs, and Gansler played for the Mustangs.
