He uses Bob Ross as his stage name.

Bob was a talented painter who created and hosted The Joy of Painting, an instructional television show that was broadcast for almost ten years in the United States, on the CBC in Canada, and on comparable stations in Latin America, Europe, and other continents.

He died of cancer complications at the age of 52 in Orlando, Florida. He was a cigarette smoker, which contributed to his health issues.

In his personal life, he married three times and was blessed with two children including Steve Ross, a good painter as well.
