Allen Robert Hilalso called Bobby Hilll was an American motorcycle racer. He was born on July 8, 1922, and passed away on July 12, 2022.
As a result of his victories on the Springfield Mile in 1951 and 1952, he was awarded the AMA Grand National Championship in those years.
During his career as a professional racer, which spanned the years 1947 through 1959, Hill won a total of 12 AMA national championships.
1998 marked the year that he was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.
He learned to ride at the age of 16 and lives in Triadelphia, West Virginia. His first year as a racer was 1940.
Hill’s career as a race car driver had to be put on hold when World War II broke out. Immediately following the war, Hill competed in and led the 1947 Daytona 200.
In 1947, Hill moved to Grove City, Ohio to be closer to the racing excitement. After nearly winning his first national championship, Hill finally won a race on August 8, 1948, in Atlanta, but he had to share the prize because of a tie.
