Bonnie Lynn Raitt was born on 8th November 1949. She is an American blues singer, guitarist, songwriter, record producer and political activist.
Bonnie has released a series of roots-influenced albums that have in them the elements of blues, rock, folk, and country throughout the 1970s of her music career.
She also collaborated with artists, like Warren Zevon, Little Feat, Jackson Browne, The Pointer Sisters, John Prine and Leon Russell. She was a frequent session player as well. Raitt’s albums, in 1991, “Luck of the Draw” and “Longing in Their Hearts” in 1994, made millions of sales.
Bonnie has received ten Grammy Awards and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. She has been listed in Rolling Stone’s list of the “100 Greatest Singers of All Time”. She is number 50 on the list. She has also appeared on the magazine’s list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” in March 2000.
She is number 89 on that list as well.
She was later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland (Ohio).
