A professional fighter since 2007, he formerly contented for EliteXC. As of the 12th of April 2022, he is in the 4th spot in the UFC featherweight rankings.
After getting into the sport in 9th grade. He was a standout wrestler at Methuen High School, being rated as high as 8th in the state in 160 pounds and ranking 5th at the Division I MIAA state championships as a senior in 2006.
After completing, he was doubtful whether he should wrestle in college or not, and agreed on opting to pursue a career in mixed martial arts.
Kattar went on to bag an associate degree at Middlesex Community College.
