He was born on July 20, 194,7 in Autlan, Mexico. Carlos was listed No.20 on their list in Rolling Stone magazine in 2015, as one of the 100 biggest guitarists. He has also obtained three Latin Grammy Awards and 10 Grammy Awards and was also admitted along with his band in 1998 into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Carlos wedded Deborah King in 1973, the couple had three kids. They later separated in 2007. The guitarist remarried Cindy Blackman in December 2010 and they presently live in Las Vegas.
