Ghanaian rapper, Edem a few days ago took to Twitter to bemoan how porous the Ghana Music Industry is. He said without mincing words that every artiste in Ghana is hungry and that Coronavirus has exposed that.

“EVERY ARTISTE IN GHANA IS HUNGRY.SOME MIGHT JUST NOT SAY IT….LETS ALL DO SO THE WORLD KNOWS HOW OUR SYSTEM BE YAWA ABD IN THIS CORONA TIMES ARTISTES ARE SUFFERING”, Edem tweeted.

Although a lot of people agree with Edem, fellow rapper D-Black stands to differ.

In response, he noted that not all musicians are hungry. Desmond Blackmore as he’s known in real life noted that musicians must strive to have some side investments aside music so that they won’t depend solely on it for survival.

He wrote:

“Not all… Some have made some smart investments bro. I haven’t had to depend on music only for over 4 years now bro.. It’s important for artists to use this situation as a reminder for the need to invest in your brand outside of art of music. It’s essential. Love g”
