Know More About Case

Back in 1974, Rodney McCoy was with his girlfriend Carla Walker in a car when he was pistol-whipped by an attacker. Rodney was the last person to see Carla alive before she was dragged out of the car. This had happened nearly 48 years ago.

In one of the interviews with Dateline NBC, Rodney said that he can still see Carla’s face and hear her screams. Those were the last words he ever heard from her.

Walker was then 17 years old and McCoy had parked his car outside a Forth Worth, Texas, bowling alley after attending a dance at Western Hills High School on 17th February 1974.

Suddenly, an unidentified man opened the passenger door and pulled Carla out. The man started pistol-whipping Rodney until he was knocked out.

The investigators from the Fort Worth Police Department were unable to close the cause for years. It was only in September 2020 when they arrested Glen Samuel McCurley with the help of advanced technology surrounding DNA testing and genealogy.

Furthermore, the investigators had put McCurley on the radar since they discovered a magazine for a .22-caliber Ruger pistol. In fact, McCurley was a previously convicted car thief who lived about a mile from the bowling alley and had purchased such a gun.
