David Gordon Mundell, is a Scottish politician and attorney, he was born on May 27, 1962. He held the position of Secretary of State for Scotland from 2015 to 2019.
He is known to be a member of the Scottish Conservative Party and has been the Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale, and Tweeddale Member of Parliament (MP) since 2005.
In 2001, Mundell was elected as a Conservative councillor on the City of Edinburgh Council. He was re-elected in 2003 and served as the Council’s convener of Corporate Services.
In 2005, he was selected as the Conservative Party candidate for the constituency of Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale and won the election, becoming the first Conservative MP to represent the area in over 100 years.
