Diana Dors was born Diana Mary Fluck in Swindon, Wiltshire, England on October 23, 1931. Her mother and she were both on the verge of death as a result of the painful birth.

Because of the trauma, Diana’s mother lavished her with anything and everything she desired, including clothes, toys, and dance classes. Diana’s passion for movies began when her mother took her to the cinema.

Diana was captivated by the actresses on TV, and she stated that she had wanted to be an actor since she was three years old. To her father’s disgust, she was educated in the finest private schools (apparently he thought private education was a waste of money).

Dors died of ovarian cancer on May 4, 1984, at the age of 52. After Dors’ death, the tragedies and misfortunes began to mount. Her grief-stricken third husband, actor and singer Alan Lake, shot himself in the head in their son’s bedroom just five months later.
