Bruce Dern, an American actor and Diane Ladd’s former first husband, was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 4, 1936. In 1960, Bruce Dern and his spouse tied the knot. Unfortunately, tragedy struck their family when their first child, Diane Elizabeth Dern, suffered head injuries after falling into a swimming pool on May 18, 1962. Diane passed away at the tender age of 18 months.
Laura, their second child, followed in her parents’ footsteps and pursued a career as an actress. After almost a decade of marriage, Dern and his spouse divorced in 1969.
