He played collegiate basketball for the Michigan Wolverines of the NCAA Division I and the Williams College Ephs of the NCAA Division III. Both of those teams competed in the NCAA Tournament.
Following his success as head coach of the Williams Ephs in 2014, he decided to join the Michigan Wolverines and play college basketball in Ann Arbor.
