The company is owned by Intersnack, a German snack food company. The first seasoned crisps manufactured were cheese and onion.

According to sources, the company targeted the healthy-eating market with low salt, low-fat crisps in the early 2000s. It was originally branded as Honesty.

Tayto now manufactures different kinds of ranges of products like nuts and popcorn, snacks, happy and healthy and sharing ranges.

Does Ray Coyle own Tayto?

According to sources, Ray Coyle, an Irish businessman and former farmer bought the Tayto brand in the year 2006. After the purchase, he began to build an amusement park in the name of Tayto in 2008.

In 2010, the Tayto Park was officially opened. It is located in Kilbrew, County Meath.
