Balmoral Castle is a large estate house located in Aberdeenshire, Scotland (England). Balmoral is a royal residence. The castle is situated is near the village of Crathie, 9 miles west of Ballater and 50 miles west of Aberdeen.

The Balmoral Castle has been one of the residences of the British Royal Family since the year 1852. It became a residency for the British Royal family when the estate and its original castle were bought from the Farquharson Family by Prince Albert who was then the husband of Queen Victoria.

Later the house was found to be too small by the Royal family then the current Balmoral Castle was commissioned.

Queen Elizabeth II who was the Queen of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms died on September 8th 2022.

Queen Elizabeth II was born in Mayfair, London. She happened to be the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York. Before her reign, the British Royal family had lived in Balmoral Castle.

However, in recent times, No-one permanently lives in Balmoral Castle. Nonetheless, the castle is one of the Queen’s royal residences and is often reported to be her “favourite” where she mostly lives from August to October.
