Dominik Livaković is a Croatian professional footballer. He currently plays as a goalkeeper for Fenerbahçe as well as the Croatia national team. Livaković began his career with NK Zagreb’s first team during the 2012-2013 season. Initially serving as the club’s second-choice goalkeeper, he made his league debut on August 31, 2012, in a 1-0 home defeat against HNK Cibalia.

He quickly established himself as the club’s number-one goalkeeper and went on to make 104 league appearances over four seasons, with 90 of them in the Prva HNL. On August 30, 2015, Livaković agreed to join Dinamo Zagreb for the 2016-2017 season. He made his league debut for the club on October 2, 2016, in a goalless draw against Hajduk Split.

In July 2019, during a Champions League qualifying match against Saburtalo Tbilisi, Livaković broke Dražen Ladić’s record for the longest time without conceding a goal at the start of Dinamo’s season (413 minutes), which had been set in 1995.

He eventually set a new record at 535 minutes before conceding his first goal of the season in a 3-1 league victory over Gorica.

On August 25, 2023, Livaković made a move to Fenerbahçe, joining the Süper Lig club for a transfer fee of €6.65 million. He signed a 5-year contract with the club. Additionally, on September 6, he was announced as one of the nominees for the prestigious 2023 Yashin Trophy. Livaković received his first call-up to the Croatia national football team for a friendly match against Moldova in May 2016.

He made his debut in a match against Chile during the 2017 China Cup, where Croatia suffered a loss in a penalty shootout. In May 2018, Livaković was named in Croatia’s preliminary 32-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

He ultimately played a crucial role in helping the team reach the final, where they finished as runners-up after losing to France. In the round of 16 match against Japan during the 2022 FIFA World Cup on 5 December 2022, Livaković showcased his exceptional skills and was awarded the prestigious Man of the Match title.

His remarkable performance included saving three penalties during the shoot-out, which ultimately propelled his team to the quarter-finals. This achievement also placed him in an elite group of goalkeepers who have made three saves in a World Cup shoot-out, joining the ranks of Ricardo in 2006 and his compatriot Danijel Subašić in 2018.
