Vlahović began his football journey at the Altina Zemun football school, where he faced tough competition from older players. He then spent three months in OFK Beograd’s youth system and even made an appearance for Red Star Belgrade.
Eventually, in 2014, Vlahović joined Partizan, one of their rivals. At the young age of 15, he signed his first professional contract with Partizan in 2015. Under the guidance of coach Ivan Tomić, Vlahović earned a spot in the first team and wore the number 9 jersey. He made his debut in the Serbian SuperLiga on 21 February and scored his first career goal for Partizan against Radnik Surdulica on 2 April.
In June 2017, Vlahović signed a preliminary five-year contract with Fiorentina, which became official on his 18th birthday, 28 January 2018. Later, on 22 February 2018, Fiorentina officially acquired Vlahović, and he chose to wear the number 18.
On his 22nd birthday, 28 January 2022, Vlahović made a significant move to Juventus, signing a four-and-a-half-year contract. The transfer deal amounted to €70 million, with an additional €10 million in performance-related bonuses, making it the most expensive transfer in the Serie A winter transfer window.
During the opening match of Serie A on 15 August, he netted two goals in a triumphant 3-0 victory against Sassuolo at home. Vlahović encountered a challenging start to the season due to multiple hamstring injuries, which significantly limited his playing time.
However, after making a halfway recovery, he managed to secure a goal for Juventus in a 1-1 draw against Nantes during the Europa League play-off round.
Vlahović, a former Serbia youth international, had represented his country at various youth levels before making his senior international debut in 2020 during the UEFA Nations League.
On 18 November, he scored his inaugural international goal in a resounding 5-0 home win over Russia in the Nations League. Following this, Vlahović showcased his exceptional goal-scoring abilities for his national team, including a brace against Azerbaijan, totalling four goals.
In November 2022, he was chosen to be part of Serbia’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He participated in the group stage matches against Brazil and Switzerland, scoring against the latter in a narrow 3-2 defeat, as Serbia concluded the tournament at the bottom of their group.
