Fernando Gabriel Tats Medina Jr., also known as “El Nio” or “Bebo,” was born in San Pedro, de Macoris, Dominican Republic on January 2, 1999, he plays shortstop and right field for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2019 and went on to win the Silver Slugger Award, and was selected as an All-Star, and win the award again in 2020. However, an injury and a PED suspension caused him to miss the whole 2022 season.

Tats was a free agent from the Dominican Prospect League who was signed by the Chicago White Sox in 2015. He was 17 years old at the time, when Erik Johnson were traded by the White Sox to the Padres on June 4, 2016, before Tats had ever participated in a professional game.

Tats played in the 2016 season for the Tri-City Dust Devils of the Class A-Short Season Northwest League and the Arizona League Padres of the Rookie-level Arizona League, batting a combined.273 with four home runs and 25 runs batted in (RBI) in 55 games.
