Matthew Martin Lee Carpenter, is an American professional baseball infielder for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB), he was born on November 26, 1985. He has previously played for the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals in Major League Baseball, and he is known to be left-handed batter and a right-handed thrower.
Carpenter has spent a lot of time at first base, second base, and third base since he started playing regularly in 2013. He was taken by the Cardinals in the thirteenth round of the 2009 MLB Draft out of Texas Christian University (TCU). He surpassed TCU’s school records for games played and at bats, and he was twice chosen for the second team of the Mountain West Conference. He also ranks second in hits, doubles, and walks.
