2024 /2025 Fully Funded Pernod Ricard Scholarship to Attend the One Young World Summit In Canada

Pernod Ricard Scholarship is one of the scholarships offered by the One Young World Summit and is dedicated to converting social gatherings and celebratory moments into authentic experiences of conviviality and sharing. These events are crucial for creating and maintaining strong social bonds.

Even while we’re passionate about fostering community, we understand that events like parties and get-togethers can be dangerous. Lonely people might not be included in moments of togetherness, antisocial behaviour poses a risk to one’s safety, and excessive alcohol usage can be harmful to both the individual and the community.

To reap the social and health benefits of community, we need to collaborate to build environments that are more welcoming, secure, and properly used. Ten dedicated young leaders who are trying to create healthy social spaces and address harmful drinking and its wider effects in their nations and communities will be identified and connected through the scholarship program.

Full money will be provided to scholars so they can attend the One Young World Summit 2024, which is scheduled for September 18–21 in Montreal, Canada.

As part of Pernod Ricard’s delegation, scholars will take part in the Summit, where they will be able to influence our actions and get professional mentoring to assist advance their projects. All of the academics will also participate in a group project aimed at influencing Pernod Ricard’s views on future social interactions and initiatives to cut back on binge drinking.

Who Can Apply?

Selected candidates will be committed to promoting healthy social gatherings and addressing underage alcohol consumption. Through their initiatives, as up-and-coming leaders in larger organizations, or by using research to advance understanding, they will be actively advancing these goals. Among the pertinent activities are:

Programs for prevention and education that try to cut down on binge drinking.
Programs for prevention that try to lessen social harm.
Initiatives to address the negative effects of excessive amounts of alcohol.
Initiatives that increase people’s safety in social settings, both physically and mentally.
Studies on Gen Z habits and behavior patterns, social trends, and the function alcohol plays in these social interactions.

Furthermore, applicants need to:

Be of legal drinking age upon submitting their application in their home country.
Willing to commit to working with other scholarship recipients on a group project after the summit. Refer to “collective project” for more information.
Efforts that promote community building, the savoir-faire of community, and educational programs centered on promoting social inclusion and combating isolation.

Work with other academics to change Pernod Ricard’s perspective on socializing and his attempts to curtail overindulgence in alcohol. Participate in the Collective Summit project to make your voice known.

Collective Project

All scholars will take part in a collective project that will result in a specific recommendation, or set of recommendations, being made to Pernod Ricard.
The topic of the collective project will be chosen cooperatively by scholars from a list of suggested themes, which include: Culture and society focus: What is the role of celebrations and partying in our society going forward, and what role does alcohol play in this? How can we ensure that these social interactions and moments of togetherness are safe, responsible, and inclusive?
The part prevention plays in these exchanges: What programs can be created to guarantee that everyone is safe at social events? How can social events constructively incorporate prevention and accountability? How can preventative initiatives be more effective? Generation Z and its impact: How can this generation Z articulate a new drinking culture? What impact and role do they have on this?
The capacity and desire to contribute to the group project must be demonstrated by the chosen applicants. This time commitment will include: two to three pre-summit meetings in September (between April and September), an in-person meeting in Montreal concurrent with the summit, and one meeting per quarter for the year that follows the summit.
