He was referred to be “the dean of counterculture comedians” and is regarded as one of the most significant and influential stand-up comedians of all time. WIFE
While on tour with his comedy partner Jack Burns in August 1960 in Dayton, Ohio. George met Brenda Hosbrook. On June 3, 1961, Carlin and Brenda got married at Brenda’s parents’ house.
Sadly, on May 11, 1997, his wife died of liver cancer. It was the day before his 60th birthday. Six months after the death of his wife, Carlin ran into a comedian named Sally Wade. Carlin and Sally got married on June 24, 1998, secretly and Carlin’s second marriage lasted up to the year of his death in 2008.
