Rarely is Cleveland’s story featured in any of the documentaries, movies, or television shows that discuss Dahmer’s murders. Glenda was also one of his victims, according to Rashad Robinson, the executive director of the non-profit human rights organization Color of Change, who spoke to Netflix Queue. Her story has only been partially told.

After Dahmer was arrested in July 1991, Cleveland stayed in her apartment at 25th and Kilbourn. (Thanks to the Milwaukee News archives). She apparently kept in touch with the Sinthasomphone family after Dahmer was jailed. In 2009, she moved to a different apartment at 32nd and Wisconsin, which was close by.

The natural demise of Cleveland occurred on December 24, 2010. She was 56 years old. After neighbours reported not seeing her for a few days, Milwaukee police found her dead on the floor of her apartment.

Cleveland, who was wary of her neighbour, frequently complained to their landlord about a foul stench coming from Dahmer’s home. Cleveland tried to contact the police because the landlord showed no sign of acting. She came from a disadvantaged community and was Black, yet the authorities didn’t take her seriously.
