Gururaja Poojary, also known as P. Gururaja, is a weightlifter who was born on 15 August 1992 in Vandse, Karnataka, India. He stands a height of 5 feet 1 inch or 155 centimeters tall and weighs about 56 kilograms. He is from a family of eight and the son of a pick-up truck driver. He began his weightlifting career in the year 2010.
In 2018, during the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast in Australia, P. Gururaja won the silver medal in the men’s 56 kilograms weight class. Also, during the 2016 Commonwealth Games in Penang, he took a gold medal in the men’s 56 kilograms weight class.
P. Gururaja has been trained in the Indian Air Force as an aircraftman is currently working as an aircraftman in the Indian Air Force since 7 February 2016.
