Hanny Papanicolaou is a murderer on trial in the NSW Supreme Court for the early 2019 killing of 92-year-old Marjorie Welsh.

She has pled not guilty to the murder accusation. Ms. Weldied as a consequence of the incident at her Ashbury home.

Who Is Hanny Papanicolaou Husband?

Hanny Papanicolaou has been married to Nick Papanicolaou for almost ten years.

She was 23 years old when she met her husband, who was 20 years older while working in Indonesia. The pair married and relocated to Australia in 2008.
On Tuesday, Nick told the NSW Supreme Court that he had never seen his wife respond furiously towards him or anybody else in the aftermath of such a horrific event.

He goes on to add that his wife’s relationship with the older woman had been pleasant up to that point. She had already presented her Christmas presents and welcomed family members to her home.

Following his wife’s imprisonment, he allegedly discovered a bottle of “anxiety medications” he had never seen before.

Mr. Papanicolaou also said that his wife wasn’t always a gambler but that by 2019, she preferred smoking and relaxing at the neighborhood club.

Hanny later married, and the pair relocated to Australia in 2008. Hanny Papanicolaou was arrested for attacking her client with a walking stick and crockery, as well as six times stabbing her in the stomach with a kitchen knife.
Similarly, Ms. Welsh reported the incident to police on the day of the crime, January 2, and identified the perpetrator as her “cleaner.”

A neighbor reported seeing a lady leap Ms. Welsh’s back gate into an adjacent park before discovering the 92-year-old woman in a pool of blood at the back of her house.

When she carried out the attack, Papanicolaou’s attorneys claimed she was significantly hampered by a mental illness.
Papanicolaou said in court that she “blacked out” during the attack and was depressed at the time.

It also said Papanicolaou lacked the demeanor of a despondent person and had never communicated her sentiments to anybody before the incident.

Papanicolaou’s barrister Tom Quilter had rubbished the prosecutor’s theft theory, saying there is “simply no evidence.”

Papanicolaou actually stole anything despite the jury hearing evidence that cash, a handbag, a ring, and an expensive watch were inside the house.

Papanicolaou had never been violent before, he said, and had no motive to attack Ms. Welsh, he said. Papanicolaou will be sentenced at a later date.
