Kevin Magnussen started his racing career in karting after being born in Roskilde, Denmark. Kevin Magnussen moved up to Formula Ford in Denmark in 2008, winning 11 of 15 races and the championship.

Additionally, he competed in six of the ADAC Formel Masters races. Kevin Magnussen was confirmed as one of Renault’s drivers for 2016, replacing Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado, and will be driving alongside Brit Jolyon Palmer.

He earned his first points for Renault at the Russian Grand Prix, finishing seventh behind McLaren’s Fernando Alonso, and was named Driver of the Weekend by Formula1.com. Kevin Magnussen finished in the points again at the Singapore Grand Prix, this time in 10th place.

Magnussen was a third driver in the No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing DPi car alongside Earl Bamber and Alex Lynn in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2022, but he was released from his contracts with Peugeot and Chip Ganassi Racing after returning to Formula One with Haas in 2022.

Magnussen will retire from the 2021 Road America Grand Prix. Following the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Magnussen will race alongside his father Jan in the 2022 Gulf 12 Hours at the Yas Marina Circuit, as part of the final round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge.
