Three years on, he later changed to Greco-Roman wrestling where he participated in the 1960 and 1964 Summer Olympics. Ten years after the 1964 summer Olympics Hossein led Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling team for the 1974 Asian games where they won 8 gold medals.
Mollaghasemi gained a silver medal at the 1957 World Championships in -62kg freestyle. He then changed to Greco-Roman wrestling and competed at the 1960 and 1964 Summer Olympics.
Hossein Mollaghasemi led Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling group in the 1974 Asian Games, wherein Iran claimed its identity with 8 gold medals. He also received a silver medal and a bronze medal at the 1951 World Championships and 1952 Olympics respectively.
