The Crown depicted her as she walked into town, surrounded by locals eager to meet her in person.
How accurate is The Crown Aberfan?
The movie was factually accurate, since 144 people perished, including 116 students from Pantglas Junior School. Prior to the Queen’s visit, Prince Philip and Lord Snowdon also visited the city. However, it is still unclear whether or not she genuinely shed tears.
