On May 18, 1927, Harvey Louis Carnigan was born. American serial killer Harvey Carignan earned a bad reputation for his crimes. He recently passed away while he was incarcerated in Minnesota Correctional Facility for life. In 1949, while serving in the Army in Anchorage, Alaska, Carignan committed his first murder.

Harvey Carignan was released after serving a portion of his sentence at Alcatraz after being found guilty of killing 58-year-old Laura Showalter during an attempted rape. Carignan used advertisements to lure unwary women into being raped and killed with a hammer.

Carignan actually killed five women, despite being found guilty of murdering only three of them. Surprisingly, Carignan asserted that God had given him the authority to kill harlots and other women in large numbers. Carignan was charged with murder despite later pleading insane.
