How did Martyn Forrest die?

The long-time Shakers captain and player passed away after a valiant battle with a brain tumor.

Lisa Forrest posted on Facebook, “We are writing to let you know that Martyn passed away, and we are doing so with the deepest sadness possible.

He was a great father and husband. We deeply regret losing you.

There aren’t many people who know that Martyn had a brain tumor discovered when he collapsed on the Radcliffe Borough pitch in 2008.

“After undergoing three brain operations, radiation, and chemotherapy, we received the devastating news in March 2022 that the treatment was no longer effective.

After several months of suffering, he is now at his last resting place, where he can keep an eye on his two sons as they grow up to be amazing men.
