Igbo and Shayo by Burna Boy meaning

In a song that was published in 2022, Igbo and Shayo are spoken line by line. One of Burna Boy’s tracks from the year is this one. The song’s name is “Last Last.”

Yoruba words “igbo” and “shayo” both translate to “weed” and “alcohol,” respectively. Igbo and Shayo thus mean marijuana and alcohol.

Joy and having a wonderful time are heavily emphasized in the song Igbo and Shayo. The chorus is apparent as a result: Burna Boy uses alcohol and tobacco to cope with his heartbreak and angst.

Burna Boy uses the slang phrase “My feelings been dey swing like jangolova,” which is another way of saying “my sentiments have been swinging up and down like a rollercoaster,” to convey his sincere anguish (Jangolova is the Nigerian English word that refers to the playground).
