Igor Vysotsky was a former Soviet boxer who was born 10 September 1953 in Khabarovsk Krai, Russian SFSR, in the Soviet Union to Yakov Antonovich Vysotsky and Meeta Joganovna Suve. Vysotsky stood at a height of about 5 feet 11 inches or 181 centimeters tall and weighed about 202 lbs or 92 kilograms.

Igor Vysotsky, who beat three-time Olympic champion TeĆ³filo Stevenson on two occasions, was named the Soviet Heavyweight Champion in 1978 and received a gold medal.

Before Igor Vysotsky became a boxer, he worked as Physical Education teacher having received his training from the Magadan Teacher Training Institute. Vysotsky, whose father was also an amateur boxer, took after his father’s trails to also become a boxer.

Igor Vysotsky died on 2 April 2023 at the age of 69 years old. Vysotsky was not known to be married.
