Papas was holding a great fan following and uncounted wanted to be like her as well because she ruled multiple eras during her serving period. Papas was born on 3rd September 1929 in Chiliomodi, California, Corinthia, Peloponnese, Greece, and was holding Greek nationality.

In 2003 Papas served on the board of directors of the Anna-Marie Foundation, a fund that provided assistance to people in rural areas of Greece. In 2013 Papas began to suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. Papas died on 14 September 2022, having spent her final years in Chiliomodi.
Papas starred in Mohammad, Messenger of God about the origin of Islam. In 1982, Papas appeared in Lion of the Desert, together with Anthony Quinn, Oliver Reed, Rod Steiger, and John Gielgud. One of her last film appearances was in Captain Corelli’s Mandolin in 2001.
