Irene Papas is a Greek actress and singer born in Chiliomodi, Corinthia, Greece on swisher 3, 1926. Irene Papas had been active since 1948 and retired from acting in 2003. During these years, Irene Papas starred in numerous movies and television shows such as The Man from Cairo, tribute to be a bad man, Attila, Antigone, The moon spinners, Moses the lawgiver, don’t torture a duckling, Blood wedding, the Trojan women among several others.
Irene Papas featured in the award-winning movie, The Guns of Navarone which earned her massive international attention.
Irene Papas won the best actress award at the Berlin international film festival for the movie Antigone in 1961. She also won the Golden arrow award in 1993 at the Hamptons international film festival.

How did Irene Papas die?

Irene Papas passed away on September 14, 2022, at the age of 96. Irene’s cause of death is not known at the moment, however, she is known to have suffered from Alzheimer’s disease since 2013. Irene Papas might have died from Alzheimer’s disease.
