Daisy Pearce was born on May 27, 1988. She plays Australian rules football for the Melbourne Football Club in the AFL Women’s (AFLW) league.

Since the first season of the league, Pearce has served as team captain for Melbourne and is widely described to as the face of women’s Australian rules football.

Prior to the league’s inception in 2016, Daisy Pearce had already led the team in exhibition games.

Daisy Pearce led Victoria and was voted best on the field in the inaugural AFL Women’s State of Origin match of 2017.

Pearce began her playing career in state leagues in 2005 with the Darebin Falcons of the Victorian Women’s Football League (VWFL).

From 2008 through 2016, Daisy Pearce served as the team’s captain.

As a member of the Darebin team, Daisy Pearce has won five leagues’ best and fairest awards, seven leagues’ best and fairest awards, and ten premierships (seven of them as captain).

For the first women’s exhibition game in 2013, Melbourne selected Daisy Pearce with the first overall pick in the inaugural national women’s draft.

Daisy Pearce represented Victoria at both the under-19 and senior levels.

Is Daisy Pearce retired?

At the conclusion of the 2021/22 season, Daisy Pearce was supposed to stop competing. Since moving to Melbourne in 2017, the 33-year-old has received numerous individual honours, including three times as best and fairest.

Since giving birth to Sylvie and Roy, twins, this will be her third season.
